Japanese War Memorial The Japanese War Memorial is located near Mount Austen and the Gifu, just outside of Honiara. Unfortunately the memorial is falling into disrepair as all the plaques have been removed and even the brass statue was stolen. Luckily, I got some photos of the statue in 2007 prior to it being stolen in 2008. This site has great views of Honiara, MT Austen and Wrights Road.
